The National Development and Reform Commission （NDRC） recently issued the Key tasks of New Urbanization and Integrated Urban-rural Development in 2021， implementing the building policy of the new era that is applicable， economical， green and beautiful， strictly restricting the construction of super-tall buildings over 500 meters and strictly banning the construction of “ugly buildings”。Supertall buildings are easy to understand， but what is “ugly building”？ Those are some buildings with the appearance which is not in line with the public aesthetic， lack of practical buildings。Let‘s take a look at some of the top 10 “ugly buildings” of 2020 that have just been announced。
1。 Guangzhou Sunac Grand Theatre。 Reasons： Chinese elements failed to be pieced together well， and it’s incompatible with the surrounding environment， affecting the appearance of the city。
2。 Jilin Yanbian Changdian Daytime Resort， which is listed because of the mismatch between ellipse and square， and the lack of aesthetic feeling of raw and hard construction。
3。 Chongqing Wulong Flying Kiss。The reason is that it harms people‘s eyes and destroys the beauty of nature。
4。Beehive Hotel Nanjing in Jiangsu Province。It makes the list because it looks so weird and out of date。
5。Jilongbao Wanfeng Lake Hotel in Xingyi， Guizhou。The reason is that people think it worships foreign things and destroys the natural ecology。
6。Wuqiao International Acrobatic Theater in Cangzhou， Hebei。The reason is because it imitates classical architecture and is shoddily built。
7。Guangxi Hechi Danquan Wine Culture Center。The reason is because it looks like a large globe， and we wonder if the designer has run out of inspiration。
8。New Library of Jiangxi Province。The reason is that the design concept is far-fetched and the formal language is confused。
9。Guangdong Maoming Youth Activity Center。The reason is that the design technique is pieced together and the organization is out of order。
10。 Baoji Union Bridge in Shaanxi Province。 Because： Exotic forms damage cultural identity。
