ISTANBUL， Oct。 6 （Xinhua） —— Turkey‘s drillship Yavuz sailed from Istanbul on Wednesday to the Black Sea to start its new mission， Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez announced。
Yavuz will carry out drilling activities in the region after maintenance at the Port of Filyos in the northern Zonguldak province， Donmez tweeted。
The ship’s towers were dismantled at Haydarpasa Port in Istanbul to be able to pass under the three bridges across the Bosphorus Strait， which connects the Marmara Sea and the Black Sea。
Yavuz had previously joined in oil and natural gas exploration activities in the Mediterranean Sea， according to the ministry。
Turkey has been continuing its drilling and testing activities in the Black Sea， with its two other drillships Fatih and Kanuni。
Fatih has discovered a total of 540 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the past year in the Black Sea。 Enditem
